Having had little or no opportunity for education and being amongst the most marginalized and stigmatized in Rwanda, these amazing women have fully embraced their opportunity to study tailoring. All HOPE’s students are victims of gender-based violence and are astoundingly resilient. They are more than survivors; they are overcomers. They leave their children with friends, walk up to 4 hours a day to go to and from school, and sacrifice their businesses to attend tailoring classes because they know the hope such training brings. HOPE’s previous 200+ graduates can testify to that.

This card is one of many fabricated by these amazing women. All donations generated will go to help provide for their families. The ladies are paid for each card they make and additional profits are pooled to provide support for small businesses they can operate after school and on weekends. (As you can imagine, keeping them in the marketplace is crucial for the establishment of their tailoring business after graduation.)
